There are many benefits to exercising when you are pregnant. You will find that your mood is better, you can sleep better and you will have less pregnancy aches and pains. When you perform sports and recreation while pregnant you will have an easier time getting back into shape after your beloved baby is born.

The first pregnancy tip is to get your heart pumping faster. You also want to work out to manage your weight gain, stay flexible and prepare your muscles for labor and delivery.

Always speak to your doctor before performing any exercise program. You want to keep you and your unborn baby as healthy as possible.

Walking is one of the best exercises for you when you are pregnant. You can easily walk without jarring your knees and ankles. Just make sure you have some good walking tennis shoes. Walking is a safe way to keep your heart pumping up until your baby is born.

Another one of the pregnancy fitness tips is to perform low impact aerobic exercise. You can choose to join a fitness club where aerobic classes are offered, a local church or park that offers aerobics or even a DVD that you can follow in the comfort of your own home. The best aerobic class to join would be for that with other pregnant women so that you and the other ladies have a very special thing in common. You will find that this class is very fun. First time mothers and second, third or more time mothers can enjoy all of the baby talk and baby tips.

Swimming is a phenomenal way to stay fit during your pregnancy. Enjoy the feeling of the water taking the weight off of your body. Your muscles will feel relaxed. You can do leg lifts and arm circles in the water. Enjoy swimming on your back. Swimming is the safest form of exercise for pregnant women.

Get up and dance to get fit. You can dance in the privacy of your own home. You can go out with your spouse or significant other to enjoy each other’s company. You may also join a fitness club that offers different types of dance classes. Make sure you only perform the safe moves and not the jumps, leaps or twirl dance moves.

Put in a yoga tape or join a yoga class. You can find out ahead of time if there is a yoga class available for pregnant women. If not, join a yoga class for any type of members. Although yoga is very good for you, make sure you perform another exercise that day or on opposite days to get your cardio going.

Mix up all of the above pregnancy fitness tips and exercises so that you do not get bored.
