"I decided to try Lite For Life because my weight was interfering with my quality of life and I needed to make a change. After hearing a talk on blood sugar at a local service club, I felt the program would be a good fit for me. The most important factor, though, was the my wife was also interested in the program and wanted to give it a try.
I have tried numerous diets over the years and have had success, but was never able to maintain the weight loss. With the ongoing support of our counselors and a program that includes a long-term maintenance program, we've been really pleased.
I see Lite For Life as a lifestyle change more than a diet. The format works for us and we look forward to a weekly weigh in a short consult. Our counselors have been great at helping us through any rough spots with suggestions that make staying focused really easy.
I'm still currently on the program, but I have lost 50 pounds so far and feel great. I'm more in control of my food choices now and the optional Lite Food Market foods work well for me. The added energy and vitality is just wonderful.

"My husband heard about Lite For Life at a Lion's Club presentation and it sounded like a healthy approach to weight loss. After our initial consultation, we committed to a year program.
I'm borderline diabetic and needed to lose weight to keep myself from becoming a full-blown diabetic. I've tried many diets over the years, but always go back to eating too much. I feel like Lite For Life is manageable. I really missed the excess carbs at first, but now I'm more used to the program. I feel more energetic and have started the personal training program at Los Gatos Fitness, which I find invigorating.

"The Los Gatos Lite For Life was in a very convenient location for me and is located inside a fitness club. I'd done Weight Watchers before but the one-on-one counseling was a big help for me. "I'd been trying different diets for the last few years without much success. I'd lose a few pounds and then gain them back - even with exercise I couldn't seem to keep the weight off! After a doctor visit, I was told that I was "pre-diabetic." I was feeling desperate, but wasn't sure what to do. I decided to try Lite for Life even though I wasn't very optimistic because none of the other diets had worked for me. I'm excited to say this one IS working! I find the plan easy to follow and I feel satisfied after eating. I'm no longer constantly grazing and craving sugary foods. "I work with a trainer at Los Gatos Health & Fitness and while I was in decent shape, I wasn’t focusing enough on my diet so my weight was actually increasing. After all, three maple iced jelly doughnuts for breakfast are always better than two! A couple days after I joined the program, I did the usual 2000 kilometer row during my training session. Normally I am exhausted and have to stop in the middle, but this time I managed to complete the distance. Stabilizing my blood sugar has brought my weight down (I've lost 45 pounds and am 5 away from my goal), but I’ve also noticed a big difference in my workouts. "I've always had the impression that weight loss programs would be difficult to adopt as they require too much time for counting and journaling, are too expensive, and are inflexible. Good thing I tried Lite for Life at Los Gatos Fitness because I was wrong! After a week of practice, the journaling and preparation became easy. I am actually saving money on food as I am buying less, and the food I am craving is simpler and cheaper. And the part of the program I appreciate the most is the flexibility which comes from the check-ins with Laurie and her team which allows for customization of the program to help me with my personal diet and health issues.
