"I had heard about the program and it seemed very sensible and realistic, unlike many diets I have tried or heard of. It seemed like a smart program that would be one that I could maintain for a long time and feel satisfied with what I was eating. I had also reached a point where I wanted to take control of my weight and not let it be something that stopped me from living my life the way I wanted. The first few days on the program were surprising and sometimes challenging, as I craved sugar a lot more than expected, but craved caffeine a lot less than I expected. Any struggles were worth it when I saw my results during my first check in. Shortly after I started Lite For Life, I moved to Hong Kong for work opportunities. "I knew I finally had to take control of my eating habits when I saw a photo of myself taken during a family reunion. I hardly recognized myself and I didn't like what I saw. It was time to make some changes. I had tried many diets before but somehow I found it too difficult to give up my biggest weakness, sweets. "I was ordered by my doctor to seek help losing weight because I had high blood pressure and was in danger of developing type 2 diabetes. I had used various diets to lose weight on my own, but they were no longer working. I chose Lite for Life because the underlying philosophy involving blood sugar seemed reasonable, and also because the program does not dictate every meal or call for strict calorie counting.
I have been in the program for four months now and have lost fifty pounds. The key for me seems to be blood sugar regulation and accountability. "I decided to try Lite For Life because my weight was interfering with my quality of life and I needed to make a change. After hearing a talk on blood sugar at a local service club, I felt the program would be a good fit for me. The most important factor, though, was the my wife was also interested in the program and wanted to give it a try.

I have tried numerous diets over the years and have had success, but was never able to maintain the weight loss. With the ongoing support of our counselors and a program that includes a long-term maintenance program, we've been really pleased.

"I've always had the impression that weight loss programs would be difficult to adopt as they require too much time for counting and journaling, are too expensive, and are inflexible. Good thing I tried Lite for Life at Los Gatos Fitness because I was wrong! After a week of practice, the journaling and preparation became easy.
