I have a B.S. and M.S. in Biology and have previously taught introductory biology and human anatomy at the college level. I am CPR certified and have CrossFit Level 1 and Barbell specialty certifications.
Area of Specialization
A lifetime of athletics has taken me through soccer, martial arts, barbell strength training, and now to CrossFit. Although relatively new to CrossFit, I have seen personal gains far exceeding my expectations based on over 20 years of more traditional strength training. I am now a devoted practitioner and trainer of the CrossFit methods.
Philosophy on Exercise
Constantly varied functional movements performed at high intensity… that is the CrossFit philosophy, and I am a firm believer in its efficacy. More importantly though, as busy as our lives are nowadays, I believe it is imperative that exercise be made a high priority. Exercise, when woven into our lives, becomes an integral part of who we are and results in better health and a higher quality of life.
I am a part time trainer and work professionally as a wetland ecologist specializing in habitat restoration projects around San Francisco Bay. I am also very active in the community and have been a member of the Los Gatos planning commission for over 4 years. In my limited spare time I also enjoy surfing, hiking and yoga.
